Persian Kitten Article # 1 – Shipping Side Effects

Purchasing a kitten…how exciting!!!

Thanks to the world wide web we are blessed to have much more variety when adding a new Persian kitten to your family.
Though this added luxury of choices is wonderful, it usually means shipping the kitten to your location.
Shipping pets is a multi million dollar expansion the airlines have branched into now that many people are uncomfortable purchasing from pet stores which generally carry poorly bred cats and dogs from mills.

With this new option one must understand that even with the absolute best possible upbringing and dedicated airline personal there can be “shipping/relocation side effects”.
These usually include catching a cold or developing diarrhea. These issues usually subside after the first couple weeks and kitty has become acclimated into his or her new home.

I think it is important to remember kitty is going through a lot in this life altering transition.
He or she is losing the only home they have ever know, they are losing their furry play mates here in the nursery along with us (the caretakers they have come to love and depend on), everything from the fibers in your carpet verses ours down to their little food & water dishes has changed.
It is a lot for a kitten to take on so please be patient, compassionate and understanding that every kitten will stress somewhat throughout this transition process, some more than others.

Should a cold develop they may even need to be ran on a course of simple antibiotics.

Diarrhea will usually subside on its own but here is a wonderful product that will help aid in calming kitty’s digestive system which stress usually takes a toll on.
