When buying a kitten
When browsing the Internet, through numerous Persian cat breeder websites, we would like to remind you that purchasing a Persian or Himalayan kitten should be a decision that is made by the entire family as a unit.
It is a decision that should not be taken lightly, after all purchasing a new baby kitten is equivalent to adopting a real-life child. The responsibilities and dedication to making that kitty happy and safe are now your ownership goals.
Kitten proofing your home prior to the new baby coming should be taken seriously.
Treat all of your electrical cords with either hot sauce or lemon juice, this simple little chore may be the difference of life and death.
If you have house plants in your home, be sure and check that they are not poisonous to cats.
Kittens are very curious and will generally investigate every new obstacle in their new homes.
They will also seek out quiet warm places to nap, provide your kitten with this much-needed quiet time place so, that he or she knows where they can escape the hustle and bustle of a busy household.
Remind your children not to pick up the kitten when he or she is at the food or water dish, in the litter pan or asleep.
These are just common courtesy rules that should be followed by all family members.
Keeping the litter pan cleaned out daily is pure respect to your furry friend. Litter pans should be completely emptied and bleached at least twice weekly.
Daily scooping is essential.
Should you decide your new Persian kitten or Himalayan kitten needs a bath, we encourage inexperienced people to use Johnson’s & Johnson’s baby shampoo, that way if you get soap in the baby’s eyes it will not be a serious ordeal.
For cleaning around kitten’s eyes we recommend Eye Envy. We’ve tried many different eye cleaning agents and found many of them to be too strong or damaging to the delicate eyes of Persian cats.
