The Cozy Kitten Cattery

Eddie & Jodi's Experience with "Cozy Kitten Cattery"

This letter is to share our story and the wonderful experience we
had with Sue and the Cozy Kittens Cattery.

When Eddie and I began looking on the web at kitten sites, it was for healing, to
try to move on and to remind ourselves of what it was like when our own little
doll-faced himalayan, Mia, was young and healthy.
She'd died just weeks before and we were just plain broken.
After 15 long and sweet years with us, Mia had become so much a part of our family
life that it was like we'd lost a family member.

We started surfing the web just to look at kitten photos and not really to find a new cat.
We didn't think we could make that move yet.
Then, we stumbled onto the Cozy Kittens website.

We were blown away by the photos on the Cozy website.
After dealing with feline cancer and the weight-loss and sickness that comes along
with that disease, just seeing the photos of what healthy and lively kittens look like
was, well, a breath of fresh air...I'd almost forgotten what health looked like.
I filled out the wait-list form and sent e-mail to the cattery to inquire.
After all, we didn't have much expectation of getting a kitten anytime soon, since
filling out a wait-list means you usually have to wait!
But, from the moment we e-mailed off the form and a brief synopsis of our story, we
began to get emailed photos of new litters and possibly available kittens...and it
started something in us that we just didn't expect.

We began to want new life. In the beginning, I raced home after work everyday to
check my email!
In the beginning, we went back and forth just about everyday about
new litters on the way, etc. All of the kittens seemed sweet, but none really
"talked to us" as they say.

During this time, one cat in particular kept drawing me in - Orbie.
He wasn't a kitten, he was a breeder at the Cozy Kittens Cattery, a flame point that
I just couldn't stop staring at. Something about him just struck me.
So, I emailed the photo from the website with a note about him being
"exactly what I'd want" and that's when the first bit of blessing came.
You see, what I didn't realize was that only one week to the day of our Mia's passing,
a teacup/toy litter had been born that contained one little teacup male who
looked exactly like his daddy...Orbie!
The litter was with Sue at the Cozy Kittens Cattery in Missouri, but it wasn't publicized
on the site because all the kittens were intended for Sue's breeder friends.
Well, all expect for one, the male that looked like Orbie!

You can guess the rest. After a long and funny phone conversation with Sue, the
owner of Cozy Kittens, we were offered our little dream kitten.
To say the least, we were thrilled and overwhelmed.
It was quick and wonderful and suddenly, we had something to really look forward
to in the way of fluff!
Week after week, those photos kept coming.
The heaviness of life without our Mia began to lift and we got really excited and eager
to get our new fur-baby from Cozy Kittens.

The timing was perfect. The kitten was perfect. We thought nothing else could be
more perfect...but we were wrong!
A few Sundays later as I sat in church thinking about our Mia and how I'd wished
we would have gotten a companion for her years before, I said a silent prayer to
God and told him what was on my heart - "Another teacup, a perfect companion for
our new fur-baby." It looked impossible, since all the kittens my baby's age were
taken and new babies coming were already for people wait-listed before me, but I
started to say a little prayer about it every day.

"If it's meant to be, God, I know you'll make it happen."
One week later, the first part came through. The funds for another teacup just fell in
our laps.

During this time, Sue saw my name in her mailbox just about everyday. :)
But, she was the best! She always answered my emails, no matter how petty,
with sweet or funny words. With our passing emails, it didn't take long for me to
start feeling really appreciative of how much care Sue took concerning my new
kitten and inquiries about companion kittens.
She really just went over and above what I expected.
In fact, Sue was so generous with her time, I began to really understand how special
Cozy Kittens Cattery really was.

In fact, the more contact I had with Sue and the Cattery, and the more I read my
way through the website, the more I knew that this was an amazing place run by
an amazing woman.

Well, our emails went back and forth and then one day, out of the blue, Sue sent me
one with the sweetest words and a very, very surprising offer.
My eyes just welled up when I read that email....Sue offered me HER kitten,
the one she was going to breed...the little teacup sister of my baby Orbie that
was supposed to become a future Cozy Kittens breeder!!!
Eddie and I were blown away!
I mean, WHO does that?
Who gives up what THEY want so that you can have what YOU want?
Not many people, I'll tell you that!
But Sue did just that...and we felt so humbled and blessed.
It was just not what we expected.
Sue insisted that we take it, even though over and over I told her that I felt guilty
and it was not what we were after...never once had I really thought about her or
another breeder backing out, since...well, why would they?
I had thought that someone with a deposit on another kitten from another litter
would just decide against thier kitten and then maybe that's how we'd end up
with a companion.
God and Sue knew better!!!
They knew the "perfect companion" had to be family!
It was a heaven-sent kinda thing!

Today, we have two of the most well-behaved, purry and BEAUTIFUL kittens we've
ever seen!
We are just getting to know their sweet personalities, but already we can see that
they were indeed "meant to be."
To say the least, this whole 'fur-adventure' has been wonderful every step of the way...
and we have Sue to thank.

As I told Sue in an email one day, when Eddie and I began the journey for a new
furr-baby we were so broken, but just finding Cozy Kittens and seeing the
beautiful photos come week after week...well, it became just plain healing for us.
Today, the fur-babies are making themselves at home with us and it's been great!
The transition from thier life at the cattery to thier life with us has been flawless and
we find ourselves laughing every day by their kitten antics.
We're thankful to have found Cozy Kittens Cattery and we appreciate
Sue and Rob and thier whole family for giving our fur-babies such a great start in life.
We know that they couldn't have come from a more loving and kind place!

We think that Cozy Kittens is the best because it's run by the BEST - people
who really care and love cats and who want to see our lives made better by
these beautiful and unique furry-purry babies!
It's without reservation that we recommend Cozy Kittens Cattery to you.

Thanks for reading our story! Sorry it's so long!!

-Jodi and Eddie Walker
